HOW A NUCLEAR ENERGY COMPANY ADDED VALUE THROUGH CONSISTENT DESIGN.
In 2007 a Finnish energy company, which had just started planning of a new nuclear power plant in Finland, asked Antturi Design to contribute to their visual identity and publication needs. Antturi Design was assigned to give all their printed material a consistent and appealing visual look. The first goal was to design and print a series of publications called The Environmental Assessment Report. The publications included a range of books and brochures that were published in 2008–2009. The largest set of books have 400 pages each and they were produced in three languages simultaneously.
The final verdict for this project came from a very authoritative body—The Finnish Parliament. On July 1st, 2009 The Parliament gave the energy company a positive Decision-in-Principle regarding of a nuclear power plant.
”It was a one hundred percent effort on behalf of all the parties contributing for a common goal. It gave me a new perspective of how graphic design can contribute in such a way and in a business where you might least expect", says Eero Antturi who was responsible for all graphic design and print production of the above mentioned publications.
